The prep stage reveals what's hidden under old paint. These are the most common upsells that save clients significant money by addressing issues early.
Waterproofing
Damp patches and water ingress found during prep. Treated and sealed before topcoat. Ignored, it means repainting in 18 months.

Paint package questions
A standard 3-bedroom Cape Town home typically takes 3–7 days for a full exterior depending on surface condition, access requirements and weather. We schedule around good weather windows and don't paint in rain or high wind. The timeline is confirmed after the site visit when we can assess the prep scope.
We work with Plascon, Dulux and Prominent depending on the application and budget. We recommend the right product for your surface — for example, Plascon Micatex for exterior masonry, Plascon 5-in-1 for interior walls, Dulux Weatherguard for high-exposure surfaces. The specification is included in your quote.
Yes — standard cosmetic cracks are filled and sanded as part of the preparation included in the quote. Structural cracks or significant damp issues are assessed separately and quoted as an additional remediation item. We never paint over a problem and pretend it isn't there.
Every 3–5 years for exterior surfaces in the Western Cape — shorter than the rest of South Africa because of the South-Easter, UV intensity and winter rain. North-facing and exposed surfaces fail faster than sheltered south-facing walls. Premium contract clients get an annual assessment so they can plan and budget before paint fails.
We provide a paint specification recommendation including product, finish and colour options. For full colour consultation and design guidance, we work with preferred partners in the interior design space — available on request at additional cost. Most clients already have a colour direction in mind and just need product guidance.
